Day 183 -- Our Other Home

The kids woke up in the morning at 9:00. Jared was still exhausted, so I got the kids together and we went to McDonald's to pick up breakfast. After letting our hard working driver get a bit more sleep, we went back in and packed up to go. Little John loves the phone, and so hotel phones within easy reach were constant amusement for him. Here he is in our last hotel room playing with yet another phone:

We left the hotel at 11:20 AM and made it to Potomac, MD at 6:15 PM -- merely a 7 hour drive this time. Our dear friend Carolyn let us come and stay at her house. It was just like being home. We got to chat and relax for a while. We went to Hadley's Park, one of our old favorites. Maddie had a great time remembering her favorite places.

We went with Carolyn to Red, Hot and Blue. YUM! They make the best pulled pork. We stayed up chatting until midnight. It was so much fun to catch up and see what quilting projects Carolyn has going on.
